Client Need
Customer was in need of an LED hazardous location area C1D1 stringer light for a job site application with an extended tunnel. The challenge was not just that the tunnel was so long, but they needed their light source to be bright and lightweight as well. Because the project was temporary, they wanted the stringer to be utilized for other hazardous location area lighting projects, capitalizing on their investment.
KH Solution
The HazRay™ Stringer was an ideal choice for the customer because it was daisy-chainable, lightweight and very bright. KH designed a 256 ft., C1D1 LED stringer with 18 lamp heads that could be stretched the length of the tunnel. When the project commenced, the customer sent the HazRay™ Stringer back to the KH factory to be split into 6 separate HazRay™ Stringers, while maintaining it’s C1D1 compliance. The initial custom design by KH engineers provided a solution for a unique customer application, but also created a savings for them by repurposing the HazRay™ after it’s initial use.
