Client Need
Due to harsh winter weather, engine block heaters were a necessity for a midwest utility company’s fleet of cranes and other large equipment used for utility purposes. Safely supplying power to the heaters was difficult with cords in and around the existing job site. The customer’s goal was to create a solution within the existing infrastructure that would provide power where they needed it and allow for safe working conditions for all.

A custom solution was developed for this utility customer due to existing infrastructure constraints. The KH engineering team worked to provide the customer the power they needed at their existing site by modifying the standard Cord Reel Power Station with an 8×8 column. The three 2×2 Cord Reel Power Stations each contained 4 reels and provided the necessary cord management in and around their cranes and other large equipment.
