This KH Industries’ customer, a long-standing leader in the aerospace industry, was a long time user of the fluorescent Quad Light. They approached KH to design a LED feed through lighting system that could be used during the fuselage construction of a new aircraft. They needed a low amperage, high lumen output portable lighting system for demanding rough service environments.
KH Industries designed the LED Quad Light specifically for the customer, however, it is quickly becoming the aerospace industries standard for temporary and portable LED wide area lighting systems. Many of othe major airlines are utilizing the LED Quad Light for aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) lighting.
The Quad Light LED feed through a portable lighting system, with clear tube shields, provides very bright, wide area lighting. They have been used during new construction or retrofitting aircraft because up to 20 lights can be strung together, illuminating the entire fuselage. LED technology doesn’t emit heat and draws very little energy. Additionally, the lights are made for rough service areas and can take an unusual amount of abuse.
“With 19 years working in aircraft maintenance before taking my present position, I’ve had considerable experience inside poorly lit hangars, and working inside and around dark and unlit aircraft.
Back then, the only lights I had access to were made by Daniel Woodhead. Our industry is tough on these lights and Woodhead did not offer any product support. Obviously, product support is an essential part of product investment, so I decided to do some research, which resulted in discovering a company that fulfilled this need: KH industries with their excellent product line, including their highly efficient and versatile Quad Light offered me everything I needed when it came to providing aircraft technicians with a well-lit and safe working environment.”
